After a period of lineup instability, original members Enrique Zúñiga (guitar) and Pato Leiva (drums) cemented the band's direction towards pure death metal in early 1988. The final early lineup was completed with the arrival of Alejandro Díaz (bass/vocals) and Jaime Moya (guitar). Despite critical acclaim, constant support from fans, and concrete interest from the legendary British label Peaceville Records, the lack of a permanent drummer, along with personal issues, forced the band to disband in 1992. After 15 years of silence, Atomic Aggressor returned to the stage at the Chile Metal Fest in 2007. This reunited lineup consisted of Alejandro Díaz, Enrique Zúñiga, Pablo Clares, and Julio Bórquez on guitar. The reunion kicked off a new era of activity, including the 2008 compilation 'Rise of the Ancient Ones' and prominent support slots for icons like Venom, Slayer, and Possessed. In 2013, the band released the split 'Blind Servants' (recorded by Felipe Jiménez) and the live album 'Live Ceremonial'. They then focused on producing their long-awaited full-length debut album, 'Sights of Suffering', which was released in 2014. Extensive tours throughout Chile, Europe, and the USA followed in the wake of the album. Most recently, the band released the EP 'Invoking the Primal Chaos' in 2019 and has continued to tour in Chile, Latin America (including Peru, Colombia, and Mexico), and the United States. Atomic Aggressor is currently putting the final touches on their second album, scheduled for release in 2026 via Hells Headbangers Records. Ectovoid: Formed in 2010 as a trio in the obscure southern United States, Ectovoid embarked on a morbid mission to fuse bizarre black/death metal songwriting with raw aggression and unsettling lyrical musings in a bleak musical exploration of the mind's and soul's darkest corners. Driven by unusual and unsettling riffs, textured and intense drumming, and darkly memorable vocals and hooks, Ectovoid's music pays homage to the revered bands of the past while forging an innovative sound and identity independent of the shifting trends in the wider scene. Through two full-length albums and various other releases, the band has purposefully honed their craft, creating a distinct identity in the broad death metal landscape and continues to strive for new heights in the art of dark death metal.
