Her sound moves between alternative, pop, and R&B, with inspiration from icons like Billie Eilish and Clairo. In January 2025, she released her debut album "Tangled In Blue," which is all about navigating the complexities of womanhood and the journey towards becoming a feminist. ANKAH: ANKAH creates music with a rare balance of sensitivity and resilience. It's an honest, melodic universe where vulnerability isn't a weakness, but a fundamental human condition. Her songs unfold in the space between indie-soul and experimental pop, carried by sharp lyrical clarity and a voice that could effortlessly carry it all alone. Her journey began early in a small Aarhus apartment, filled with the sounds of Whitney Houston from her mother's stereo, the "Boogielisten" music charts on TV, and an ever-present Bratz karaoke machine. But it was later, with artists like D’Angelo and Erykah Badu, that the contours of her own songwriting began to take shape. At home in her teenage room, she learned to listen for what hides between the lines. And it quickly became clear that songwriting could hold more than just melodies. It could be a language for all the things that are hard to put into words.
