Vepsestikk is an uncompromising quartet from Bergen that experiments with elements of indie, punk, prog-rock, and jazz. "Regardless of age, it's relatable for anyone who feels they haven't peaked yet!" wrote NRK P3 reviewer Sofie Granberg about the title track ‘Ny Person’. Vepsestikk's raw energy, complete with a “Dance and hypnosis guarantee” (Radio Nova), is something that absolutely must be experienced live. They have made their mark on festival stages like Bergenfest, Nattjazz, Oslojazz, the Arctic Arts Festival, and by:Larm. Recently, they have also ventured beyond Norway's borders, thrilling audiences at venues and events like the indie club Heaven Up Here in Stockholm, Loppen in Copenhagen, and our very own SPOT Festival right here in Aarhus. In the autumn of 2026, they will release their debut album, ‘Hjertestikk’. The album explores different perspectives on painful emotions and experiences. Whether it's about breakups, homesickness, unrequited love, grief, or anxiety, all the themes are tied together by one common sensation: a sharp sting in the heart.
