The music balances perfectly formed compositions with explosive improvisation, weaving poetry, spoken word, and multilingual vocals into an organic and genre-bending expression. The album "Music of Secrets" has been hailed internationally as “an artistic high point in Danish jazz” (Blue in Green Radio) and “music of ruthless intimacy” (Jazzthing). At a sold-out Vinterjazz show, the newspaper Politiken described Søndergaard's music as a confrontation with escapism, highlighting how she “hammers the mallets into her vibraphone with great aggression and just as much authority, while hope still lives in the tones beneath the surface.” The paper also pointed to her “fresh take on what Danish jazz can sound like if you dare to play your way through all the seriousness.” On stage, SECRETS creates an intense and inclusive atmosphere where fragility and explosiveness stand side by side. The concert is a complete experience with a dramatic structure and a powerful presence. Viktoria Søndergaard has performed with the likes of Marilyn Mazur, the DR Big Band, and Trine Dyrholm, and was nominated for a Danish Music Award as Musician of the Year in 2025.
